Alena-Double Digits

Oh my, we knew this birthday would be very hard.  Ten?!  10!?  This is unbelievable.  We have been parents for a decade. You have been part of our lives for that long.  You are growing up before our eyes.  What an amazing person you have become.  Alena, you remain so caring and such a rule follower.  For the most part you are a great big sister and are looking after your two younger siblings. You play so differently with each of them and it is fun to watch.  As always you excel in school, testing above where your peers are.  You remain on ELP and were also invited to be part of ELP art which you enjoy.  You decided to try out for a select soccer team through Polk City this year and made the team so that is your commitment this next year.  You are a striker for the team and are an excellent player. I never thought I would enjoy watching soccer but we love watching it now and have learned so much from you.  It isn't unusual for us as a family to sit down and watch a professional soccer game and enjoy it.  You also played volleyball this fall and plan to play basketball this winter.  Sports come so easily to you.  We are so proud of everything you do and feel so special that you are our daughter.
